What is the European Economic Area (EEA)?

The European Economic Area (EEA) brings together the EU Single Market and three countries from the European Free Trade Association (EFTA). It allows the free movement of goods, services, people, and capital across most of Europe.

• 27 EU countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden.

• 3 non-EU countries: Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway.
