Smart Staking

1. What is Smart Staking?

Smart Staking is a feature that automatically starts staking eligible assets for you - as soon as you buy or deposit them. No need to activate it manually every time.

2. How do I manage Smart Staking?

You can manage Smart Staking in the Portfolio tab of the Change app. Just open the Smart Staking menu, where you can turn staking on or off for each supported asset.

3. Smart Staking is enabled, but I don’t own the asset - why?

That’s perfectly normal. Smart Staking lets you preselect which assets should be automatically staked the next time you buy or deposit them. So even if you don’t currently own the asset, it will be automatically staked when you acquire it again.

4. I sold the asset, but the Smart Staking toggle is still on - why?

When you sell an asset, Smart Staking stays active for it unless you manually turn it off.

That means the next time you buy or deposit that asset, staking will automatically resume.

5. Do I earn rewards if Smart Staking is enabled but I don’t own the asset?

No. Smart Staking must be enabled and you must own the asset for rewards to start. You only begin earning rewards after you purchase or deposit the asset and it appears in your portfolio.

Smart Staking helps automate the process, but remember: no rewards are earned unless you actually own the asset in your portfolio. Smart Staking does not introduce any additional risk - it’s simply an automation tool, and your funds remain as secure as with manual staking.
